Well my power steering has finally gave up the ghost. It's been pissing out of the rack for a while and I have been toping off the pump every 2 weeks. I can still steer okay, but it's tough in the parking lots. Similar feel to manual steering. I was wondering if there is any steering component upgrades out there that are better up for the task of off roading. Anything stouter, and more reliable components out there?

Not to my knowledge. My Toyota rack went out at about 150k.. I put a new dealer one in and it's at 230k now and doing fine

Just to add... I guess I am mainly asking about the actual rack itself. Couldn't find an aftermarket rack and wasn't sure if maybe a sequoia rack could be retrofitted ??

How much do you wheel and how rough are your trails?

i would be interested in some upgrades options as well. I have always wondered if it would be possible to upgrade the the PS pump or PS pulley? i know trail gear sells a "upgrade" pulley and pump but not sure if they work on the stock rack.

This is a DD and full hydro isn't legal on the road here in Maine
