3.4 engine - Throttle body with oil?

    Hello guys, i removed my throttle body 2 days ago,

    and i found this amount of oil when i removed it...

    Is it suppose to be that oily?

    That doesn't look too bad. Judging from the pics it's very slight. One thing you may want to do is look down the intake track. If there's oil heading 'down' towards the air filter then it's time for concern.

    My experience, i had a cracked valve cover, and a bad PCV valve coupled with some other issues that were causing excessive blow-by.

    I'm just an armchair mechanic, but i'd start by reading up on the PCV system and what it does. - And whatever you do, spend the extra $3 and buy an OEM Toyota PCV valve if you decide to replace it. The 'generic' ones are shit.

    Thanks for your comment what woukd the oil going to the intake pipe?

    A bad throttle body?

    Yeah i just replaced the PCV valve for a new toyota one.

    Im changing a lot of stuff now ill post a few pics back to see if after some miles the oil there looks less or the same.
