What's up guys, I just purchased an '01 3.4 TRD 4x4 and someone removed the catalytic converter from the truck. Looking at replacing the cats with cats from Flowmaster b/c the exhaust STINKS! 4wheelparts has two cats listed for an 01... do I need both or just one? I have nothing to compare it to... Thanks.

Just find a stray cat and shove the pipe in the mouth and through the rear and you will have a cat conv. :D

Dave - Yes, the truck was like that when I purchased it. Didn't think much of it until I dropped it off to be inspected today.... fingers crossed. Mississippi doesn't do emissions testing so I should be good.

if their are 2 cats listed one might be a pre-cat. some cars use 2 stages and multiple o2 sensors in the exhaust. is your CEL on?

Artruck - No, no light. Someone welded an O2 sensor in the new pipe. There are several changes in pipe size so it sounds like crap.

Dave - I'd like a bolt in replacement... by the time i pay a shop to weld in that cat I might as well pay for the bolt in.

Did they install a URD O2 sim? Unless they pulled the bulb. If you have a code reader I would check it.

Some of this Some of that
Your truck is an 01', so you need California legal, 50 state converters if you want to do it right. They got me here and if your a first time customer you can get 15% off, or google some other coupon. I have them and they work great, give the truck a little bit more of a throatier tone compared to stock cats, your aren't there so idk how it would compare sound wise
