Remote Entry Enable

VIN number on a 2001 how do you tell if you can use a remote entry fob, I have power windows and door locks is that a go for remote entry? Just buy a remote entry fob and program it?

 

I think one of these would indicate you've got the security module and just need the fobs.

 

You have an 01 Extra Cab, this was a factory installed option that came with your truck? what trim level is the truck? I'm trying to figure out how to obtain this option either through a dealer or bone yard. Thanks

 

Mine's an '01 extra cab, but I've only had it a month, can't tell you what was on it from the factory. It's V6, TRD, SR5. From what I've read I think this is a dealer installed option called a VS3000. I don't have any fobs, I'm about to order some on ebay.
