One more thought. Have you tried a short drive with the rear half of the shaft removed (in 4wd) just to see if anything changes?
I once had a squeak (no vibe) that happened only at 3K engine rpm, in any gear, 2 or 4wd, hi or lo range. It was a nick on one of the slip joint splines. How it got there and why it was engine rpm specific, beats the heck out of me. I filed it off, painted the splines with grease and it's quiet as a church mouse.

I'm having the shaft balanced, and angles rechecked by a machine shop that also does auto repair. I'll have some rear axle shims machined for the correct angle needed.

Tom Woods does not re-balance driveshafts that aren't theirs... That's just silly.

Got the driveshaft back, and 2* shims installed.

    Done Son.

All the shake is gone. No more horrid ass end shake.

The old german dude at a local machine shop balanced the shaft, and made sure everything was in phase. He changed the weights, and re-welded them all.
He made sure all of it was perfectly in phase, and made divots in all the steel components so i can always re-align it, if/when i replace u-joints and carrier bearing again.

Its baby smooth on the highway again. I took it up to 90mph, and it cruised smoothly.

There we go, my adventures chasing my own tail are over. all is good. :)

Thats the wierd part, The shims made were 2*.

Somehow a 6* operation angle, and a 2* shim, made the operating angle 2.5*

    6-2=2.5

Driveline math is retarded. It doesnt make any sense.

But yes, the machine shop precision made the shims out of 4140 stainless. They also rebalanced the shaft.

    Its perfect again.

How bad was the shake? Wen the shakes started was it immediately a bad vibration or did it get worst as speed increased? I have a vibration similar to this however I did get my drive shaft balanced but it didn't help, starting to thing they didn,t do it right.
