Hello! I have read over and over that I am not the only one with black fender flares fading to grey. I am tired of using products to turn them back to black and have them fade on me again in just a few days. I have given up on the quick fixes now. I am done with it.

On to my question. I will be doing bed liner fender flares in the future. Other than fender flares, what else on your Tacoma have you used bed liner on and are happy with?

Planning on Fender Flares obviously, but also planning on doing the (I don't know the specific name) plastic on top of the front bumper. Are you guys putting bed liner on the lower front valence too? Door Locks? Rear bumper step? Front Grill? Center Caps on the rims? I would like to hear.

Thank you guys. I would just like some opinions. Pictures are nice, but there are enough of them around. There are some things photos just cannot show in real life, that is why I am asking what your take on it is.

I am not doing normal paint, my mind is set on bed liner. I am not asking what kind or types, I just want to know what you all are using it on other than flares.

    Thanks a bunch!

    2002 Regular Cab PreRunner.

PS: The photos attached I took today just a few hours ago after I washed, waxed, and spent 90% of the time trying to make my flares black again....

EDIT: Forgot to mention mud flaps.

ALSO- Are the parts you are spraying with bed liner looking legit, or did they come out differently than you thought after seeing bed liner parts from a photo?

I did my front and rear bumpers, sliders, bed rack, and skids. I'm sure you are more referring to stock parts but I figured I'd post up anyway. I like using the aerosol bed liner because it is very easy to touch up scratches and it blends good also.

Thank you for your quick response Southern01Taco, I am considering aerosol liner because of how versatile it is and simple. Yes, I am referring to stock parts. I am glad to hear it is working out well for you.

Ive used Rustoleum bedliner on my flares, entire front bumper valence, grille, rear bumper step (just the plastic caps), rocker panels, and fishing pole holders. I like it but I wish I had used dye on the valence cause it's harder to clean with bedliner on it.

I used Rustoleum glossy black paint for the chrome parts of my bumper, my rear bumper, and my center caps. and Plasti-Dip on my wheels, door handles, and emblems.

Thank you WThomas1250. Also, thank you for giving me a heads up on the valence. I never thought about cleanabilitiy (that isn't a word haha)! That is a very good point on the lower valence.

Anyone do the front bumper with liner but not the lower valence? Does this look unfinished at all in anyones opinion?

I used Raptorliner on my floorboards, top of sliders, bottom of body and my 17" sequoia wheels. Also done a Double cab bed with it, good stuff & tintable to color of your choice!

I am heading to bed at the moment, but I will look into Raptorliner, as I have never heard of it before!

It sounds like a lot of you out there are using Rustoleum Spray liner, any problems with this product fading over time? I have heard that some Sprayed bed liners develop a grey to them over time.

I have used the Rustoleum spray on bedliner for my bed, front bumper (Elite), and rear bumper (Elite). I primered the metal first before applying multiple coats to each area/item. It doesn't fade much that I can tell, however it is NOT nearly as durable as the real deal (Rhino Lining). This past weekend I slid an old cabinet with nails protruding and it ripped up the bed down to the metal. Also I slid a 55-gal drum full of trash across the bed and it tore up the bedliner. My old chevy with the Rhino liner always held up to that kind of work. Oh well, it was a heck of a savings and just had to spray more over it afterwards.

A guy I work with did his whole truck in paint on Herculiner. Looks tough, well as tough as a Chevy S-10 can look

I've had Rustoleum on the bed rails since December and it hasn't faded at all so far.

As for durability, nothing can beat a professional application such as Line-x or Rhino Liner. But for what I've used it for, it has held up great.

    Bumpers, skids, OME suspension,
Front and read bumpers, and sliders. Rattle can bed liner. As they get scratched, I re-apply. On on old XJ i had the bumpers Rinolined and it was like armor. If I had it to do over again, I would have taken my truck in and the bumpers Rinolined on the Tacoma.

Thank you all for your responses! Also, thank you for sharing the picture with the Raptorliner. It looks good! The texture in my opinion looks good but for me it seems just too rough and rugged looking.

Someone earlier stated that the bed liner valence was hard to clean? Has anyone else had issues with this part in bed liner?

Also, would bed liner on mud guards/flaps be bad because they flex a lot?

So far from your guys' suggestions and examples it looks like I will be doing the outer part of my grill, fender flares, plastic on top of front bumper, and possibly the lower valence in bed liner.

I am liking Rustoleum's spray liner because it is easy to touch up, built in UV protection, and it gives a slight textured look but not as extreme as Raptorliner as pictured earlier.

I bedlined my mudflaps and its holding up just fine. The flexing doesn't affect the bedliner.

The great thing about raptorliner is you can set the texture how you want, it was going in a bed and or onsliders and floorboards so i wanted it a little grippier but you set the PSI on yourcompressor to change the textured outcome.. Its far more durable than the soray on liner, & yes ive used it as well.. Ill take raptor any day over the spray in mess.. Its been onmy floorboards and sliders for over a year now and still looks like the day it went on
