lockright doesnt fit

    So i bought a lockright 1620 for my 1996 tacoma and it doesnt fit, any one knows if i got the wrong one ???

    the spider gears are out. the locker is brand new. the diameter of the locker is to big to go in and its supposed to be the right one.

    According to the Summit racing website, the 1620 goes in the old 8-inch diff.
    Tacomas have the newer style 8.4-inch diff (except for the Tacomas with the e-locker).

    This is correct.

    95-97 have 8.4" rear diffs. 98-04 w/ Elocker have the 8" diff
