2 1/2 inch rough country suspension lift
Let me start by saying I am a mom who knows very little about lifts and modifications so please bear with me!! My son has a 2003 Tacoma double cab 4x4/Automatic with a v6 and a 2 1/2 inch rough country suspension lift...I promised him that I would get him 33 inch Hankook Dynapro M/T tires and new Fuel wheels for his bday/Christmas gift! I've been told that the 33's will not fit his truck with the 2 1/2 inch lift so I was going to get a bigger lift!!!! I have called several shops that deal with lifts and have been told multiple times that the only suspension lift available for his model truck is a 2 1/2 inch!! Now one shop did say I could go with a 6 inch fabtech suspension lift but the lift kit itself is almost $3000.00!! I know i could add a 3 inch body lift but have heard they are not safe and don't look very good (He does have a bull bar and step bars). I would appreciate any advice that can be given!!! Oh and he will not be doing any off roading or he better not be!!! He can do that when he buys his own truck and is paying for the repairs!!! Thanks so much!!

Can't help out on your predicament.... (I know there are all sorts of lift options for more than 2.5" so help will arrive soon i'm sure).

But you are a great mom! :D

I've seen a first gen with a 3" lift run 37s, it's possible, just trim some plastic or use a hammer where needed. I see no reason why you can't fit 33s.

Edit: And welcome, you are pretty badass mom to buy your kid some new taco shoes.

Is it too old to be adopted at age 25?

    Too few to list.
There's a 1st gen sitting in our work parking lot right now with 285/75/16 (33") with most likely OME coils. Doesn't appear to have any rubbing issue.
