I'm looking to find a 1st gen. xtra cab 4 cyl 4x4 Tacoma. Did they have access cabs then? One I'm looking at has a grill that looks different than most tacomas but I have seen it on other 03's. Is this grill stock? Does it indicate a certain package? I do not know a whole lot about tacomas, just that the 1st gen 4 cyls have a great reputation for dependability. Also what kind of mpg can you get on one of these if you really grandma shift? Thanks!

That's just an aftermarket billet grille that the dude put on. Also has aftermarket clear corner lights. It looks like a base model truck by the mirrors. It should still be a good truck if maintenance was kept up and everything.

They've had extended cabs since the 80s, though they didn't get a back door until 2nd Gen.
They've had double cabs since the 2001 facelift.
The factory grille from 2001 to 2004 is all the same except for chrome or not chrome.
