    Hey all.

I was wondering what the difference was between stock 02 rims and stock 2012 rims were? back spacing etc?

EDIT - stock TRD 16in rims.

1st gen wheels stick out a little bit further than 2nd Gen wheels. 1st Gen wheels on a 2nd Gen stick out I believe just under an inch further than stock if my memory serves me correctly.

This is assuming you're talking about 6-lug wheels.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
4.5" 1st Gen vs 5.5" 2nd Gen give or take some.

And it's because of the difference in BS why many if not most 1st gen Tacoma owners experience some kind of rubbing on the frame or wheel wheel when changing up to a 2nd gen wheel and new tires.

reason i ask is i see some 2nd gen rims claming 15mm offset.... which would make for 15mm + 1/2 of 7.5in = 4.35in + a lil more for the outter lip... maybe another .25 in so total of ~4.6-4.75in back spacing

I have seen some stock 2nd gen rims claiming 30mm of offset which would get you closer to that 5.5in backspace.
