Hey everyone, I have a few questions on how to do the rear end of my 2001 tacoma double cab. I'v decided im going to get the deaver j59 package, but and having trouble finding th ride shocks to get as much travel and utilize the deavers as much as possible but want to just the stock mounting on the frame, but am willing to maybe relocate the mounts on the axle. been picking around a bit and have come up with the assumption that i can run 10'' resi's with all stock mounts, any help would be much appreciated. thank you!

I think it's really basic. When your main leaf compresses to a point where it is flat, that is zero. You don't want to go beyond that point into negative arch, this is also where you want to set your bump stop to contact.
From there you can measure from the top shock mount to your lower shock mount.
This is your collapsed shock length.

Then jack your frame up far enough to get your tire off the ground on the same side of the truck and measure from the same two points, that's full droop. This is your extended shock length.

The delta between the two measurements is the travel measurement.

Shocks are sold with these three measurements; collapsed, extended and travel.

OP, this VVV is sound advice. Do this before you buy your shocks.

If you have access to a forklift like I did, put your spring pack on and flex it out.
