Been having this noise when I go into 4wd not sure what it is, and everyone I know thinks its something different. Can you guys help me figure out whats going on, and should I get my transfer case rebuilt or replaced?

There is a clunking sound you hear when I take off and it does it a few other times in the video.

yeah bought the wrong tacoma thats for sure, even brought it to a friend thats a mechanic before I bought it. It was good for about 2 months then the problems started to creep up. About the only thing thats fine on it is the frame. *knocks on wood*

All I can think of, is get under there and grab the shafts and see how much play (up, down, in and out) there is. I would drain it as well and look for any metal. If its making that bad of noise, I would assume there is some metal in it probably.

not really, waiting for a bit of money to get a new transfer case, and hopefully upgrade my truck to a new tacoma within the next few years.
