Is this a deal?

I have the opportunity to buy a 2001 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4x4 v6 automatic.

The truck has been in a roll over. The owner claims it only needs a roof and that everything else is fine.... it is an extended cab and green. It has low km (93k) and he wants $2500. I will more then likely have to get a roof off another truck and get it welded and painted. Now the other thing is that it has a "salvage title" And that means it needs to go through a $400 inspection. Body and mechanical. Would anyone buy this? It would be nice to fix for under $2500.

 

Only a roof? In the roll overs ive seen, even just a topple to one side it still needed a front fender, mirror and some kind of body work to the bed and door. I find it hard to believe that it only hit the roof.

 

I will go look at it tomorrow. i will offer $1500
