    Would anyone happen to know the difference in the model numbers for 5125s for the rear of an '03 Taco V6 4x4? IIRC, the passenger side will be a little longer, as the mounts aren't in the same place. I realize that placing both on the garage floor to compare would be one option, but I don't have that option at the moment. I can't find any documentation telling me which matches what. Anyone have the numbers for each side handy? Thanks in advance!

    According to Downsouth Motorsports webpage:

    Driver Side Rear 5125 Series Shock Part #: BE5-6252-H0
    Passenger Side Rear 5125 Series Shock Part #: BE5-6253-H0

    I'm not too sure where you found those values, but thanky! I talked to them last week trying to get this info and they said they didn't have it, so I didn't bother surfing the web page...figured it just wasn't there. Not dogging DS or anything - they're pretty awesome, but didn't seem to have that info over the phone. But it's still a bit confusing.

    I wound up using Bilstein's catalog to solve the mystery. Those numbers jibe with what's actually written on the shock. The numbers from DS don't seem to correspond with Bilstein's numbers and I found no translation.

    Anyhoo - from the catalog I found:

    185606 = 22.5" (RHS)
    185590 = 21.54" (LHS)

    I think I'd read somewhere that there was a 1/2 inch difference in the mounts, but according to Bilstein it's almost a full inch of shock length (.96").

    Anyhoo, the reason I'm asking is that my RHS shot oil all over the place and a new one is about to go in its place. I just wanted to make sure I didn't install these backward and bring the leak upon myself. It appears that I got 'em on in the correct order and just wound up with a faulty shock.

    Thanks for the reply Tacoma04. Looks like there are 2 sets of numbers for these and it ain't that easy to run down the translation.

    Looks like the equivalents are:

    BE5-6252-H0 = 33-185590 (LHS)
    BE5-6253-H0 = 33-185606 (RHS)

    I just looked up your truck on DM webpage and found the numbers. Makes sense that those are the DM numbers and not the Bilstein numbers, sorry about that.

    Good that we now have both sets of numbers. Good job.
