I had this code for a long time and fixed it about 6-8 months ago. I changed the rear O2 sensor and that wasn't it. Took it to the toyota dealer and for $90 they diagnosed it as a MAF sensor. It's run great till the other day. I dont drive the truck every day so I didn't notice a birds nest in front of my air filter (got in through the deck plate). As I cleaned all that mess out I had a bunch of leaves and nasty stuff in the air filter. I tried to smack it and clean out the box the best I could at the time. Didn't look like anything got past the filter so I drove it to work (30 miles) and it worked like normal. When I left work the truck started running rough like it did before with that code and it ws making a light crunching sound when I would hit the gas. Right before I got home that dreaded CEL light came on. I guess my question to you all is, if I clean out my air intake tube and give my MAF sensor a good cleaning along with replacing the filter "should" this take care of the problem?? Im goint to try it anyways just wondering if anyone has had anything similar happen.

    Thanks

Also check and make sure you have no cracks/leaks/etc in your intake plumbing between the MAF sensor and the throttle body.

Well, I tried all of the above recomendations above and the GD CEL light came on after 5 miles. Guess Ill blow another $90 at the F'n dealership. This truck is starting to piss me off with its terrible mileage and CELs.
