So my frame got the approval for replacement and they have ordered parts. From reading a lot of accounts on here for frame replacement, it seems like dealerships are giving them a rental prior to all the parts being received. Should this be the case? I have a big trip ahead of me and it would benefit me to have the rental they give (gas milage) and also, if something were to happen to my frame in the time waiting for parts, is that not on toyota? Thinking I will call them this week and try to get it sorted out but wanted your feed back. Thanks for the help!

Your best bet will be to call the dealer and ask. Toyota bought my truck back - no rental there. :p

I think they provide you w/ a rental, if they don't offer it you should demand it IMO. GL :)

I was provided a rental, and had it for two weeks. I "think" that is part of the warranty coverage.

When my frame was failed(barely), the dealer told me they could not allow the truck to leave due to liability. I do not know if this is a Toyota decree, or the dealership themselves making that statement. It didn't matter as they didn't hesitate in giving me rental for the entire month they had my truck

I guess I should have clarified that I still have my truck in my possession while they are waiting for parts. Seems like they should still be liable for anything that happened to my truck frame while they awaited parts? I called toyota customer experience department today and was told I would have a resolution by tomorrow as far as a rental goes so we will see
