In all the engine building books Ive read, they all said a heavier flywheel will increase torque.

What kind of gains you might see or if it would be worth it on a non-racing vehicle I cant answer.

Don't know what stock weight is, but it won't increase torque. If in fact it is heavier than stock, it will have more inertia, revs won't drop or climb as fast when shifting. A lighter flywheel will make the engine more feel more responsive, and revs will fall faster. Looks like this flywheel adds more weight, so mileage may be affected slightly with more rotational mass.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
    A heavier flywheel? Sounds interesting.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
I think increasing torque is a misconception. IIRC just makes it easier to tow by maintaining engine momentum. Your RPMs will climb noticeably slower but smoother.

Thanks for the thread, I didn't find one on here.

This thread just made me not want one, ha ha ha. Seems like little noticeable difference at low rpm compared to noticeable negative effect on accel and higher end hp. Little gained for the trade off.

Maybe we would have different results with our 5vzfe's?

And I was wrong stating that it would increase torque Vigo, your right, just more inertia.

Funny that LCE advertises it as a "High Torque Flywheel" though.

It's mainly for the holding power for me. I will have full armor, winch, 33" tires, the whole 9 yards. I'm going to try it for that extra low end grunt at take off and climbing.

maybe for a "high torque" application, not necessarily adding more torque

Inertia, yes - harder to stall. However, if anything you will see a loss in overall engine output. Adding mass to the drivetrain will only drain power, never add. You'll likely notice the lack of responsiveness / ability to hold momentum when grabbing the clutch more than the loss in power, but my CTS-V has a 48lb flywheel and I would switch it for a 17lb Z06 flywheel in a heartbeat. It feels sluggish and it's annoying.
