    Hello,

I have a '92 Toyota PU 5 speed 2dr 2.4L engine. The odometer stopped working; however, the speedometer still works (to the best of my knowledge at least).

I checked the sensor on the passenger side of the transmission and found what looked to be a cable plug (at least I think this is the sensor).

I unplugged and inspected. There were three wires leading into the plug and all seemed to be securely fastened into their fittings.

First of all, am I looking at all in the right place for the spedo/odometer sensor? Second, what else should I be checking?

The plug on the transmission may be your reverse light switch. Does the truck have a cable driven speedometer? If so, it's likely a component in the cluster that has failed.
