just bought another pickup yesterday with a 9 inch lift sitting on 35s. the guy put 4.88 gears in the rear and nothing in the front and the 4x4 doesn't work right obviously. what do i need to get for the front? are the gears for the front and rear the same? any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, the front has to be 4:88 as well. If the ratios are not the same the front and rear wheels will spin at different speeds, definitely not a good thing!

No. B1G1F was just referring to the fact that you need 4.88 at both ends.

You need the proper gears for that model diff.
Not every '94 had the same front and rear diffs... you'll need to go by the exact model of the diff.

And seriously... 9" lift and 35's on a '94? Even with the gears that truck is always going to be a dog unless you transplant a 350 into it.
