for my 98 tacoma, i know these were supposed to be pricey but I've called around a couple or local dealerships (Calgary, AB, Can.) and am getting quoted at around $750 total for pairs of:

-upper BJs ($115/each)
-lower BJs ($205/each)
-outer tie rod ends ($55/each)

I wanted to ask on here before ordering them, is this pretty standard price? Seems on the steep side even for dealership prices?

Does anybody know of, or have any connections, where I could get these parts for cheaper? I have used moog BJs before but have heard that the quality has really taken a dive and I would rather get the OEM ones to be safe, especially for the lower BJs. I've looked on some online parts sites and all I've found is raybestos, moog, etc, so dealer is pretty much the only option for OEM is that right?

Thanks in advance.

I'm running moogs on my longtravel burg kit, from what I've heard the moogs are actual better than oem. Plus they have a spot for zerks.

I disagree with that. Outdated design, not as long lasting as oem or strong. Go with oem op, I paid $200 for both lowers off toyota parts barn. Com. Might be worth checking out a toyota parts website. Read this over a little

LBJ's on most Toyota web stores are under $90 each. I wouldn't buy from my local dealer because they over charge.

Keep in mind people we are talking Canadian prices we can end up paying almost double for parts up here.. six that you are on Calgary cuz I would say ship them to a u.s boarder town and save a few bucks.

Thank you for all the responses.

Yeah there is definitely mark up on prices at the dealers and parts are already expensive as is where I live. I've also been looking at some online sites and one other local source before I am going to order anything. If shipping doesn't kill me I might try to get them online but if its going to be a hassle I will order them locally. I have about a week to sort things out before I leave the country for a few weeks and then when I get back it's straight to full-time university again. I'm also figuring out a mystery coolant leak after a cold weather snap induced overheating so there is that too.. If time wasn't a factor I would ship to the border but that's not the case so I might just have to bite the bullet. If I really wanted to save money on parts I guess I'd still be driving my volkswagen hah...

I'm for sure just going to get OEM parts though, I thought about maybe getting aftermarkets for just the uppers and TREs but for the small amount saved I think it's worth putting out the cash for legit Toyota parts. The originals on my truck have lasted over 200k kms so you do get pretty good bang for the bucks.
