    Can anyone with a 99 single cab tell me if a hard-hat and a pair of boots will fit behind the seat....Or will I need a toolbox in the bed....?

    I ordered those Rothco "daypack" bags from Amazon (best price) about $18.00/ea.

    Also - if your doing this - here is how I installed them;
    Bags are 17x12x5 so I got 17x12 plastic storage bin from home depot (needed lid - blue inside bag)
    Mounted lid inside bag with push style automotive fasteners - 1 per corner
    Put 4 holes through bag/lid to allow 2 zip ties per bag to connect to "crossbar"
    Presto - it stands upright when empty & doesn't move & can bug out in a jiffy

    Being 6'4" and 215,,no way a standard cab would work. BTDT. For those stuck in a standard cab, contractors toppers are still available,,with the tall center and side opening and rear access. You could then run the lengthwise tool boxes down each side of the bed. You loose some bed space, but you gain organized storage.

    There basically is no storage in the S cab,,you have room for a couple empty McD's bags on the floorboards, a pistol under the seat and that's about it. Sure you can cram some small shit behind the seat and all around, but that only goes so far.
