Does anyone know of a make/model DVD/CD, bluetooth (preferably with a back up camera option) for a 97 tacoma? Pulled the panel off over the din cd player & the space below it, and it's a weird size. Not single, double, or even 1-1/2. I didn't really want to install a unit with a pull out screen on a single din if I could have the full screen.

Thank you very much for any assistance!

I have a 1996, when I replaced the head unit it was definitely double din. It already had an after market unit so something may have been changed. I installed this...

While it does not have video the sound quality is good, and the Bluetooth works very well. I would recommend Clarion as a good head unit, I know they make touch screen units as well.

Pioneer avh3500bhs is what I have and it's wonderful. But.... I found I rarely use the dvd player part.

Double din is an easy fit without modification

Ok, that's good to hear! Opens up a whole bunch of options, maybe even gps though we're mostly after the bluetooth. Also my wife is addicted to back up cameras. I measured using an older delco-bose 'double din' from one of our corvettes and it wouldn't fit. Maybe it was too make/model specific?

Thank you, really appreciate the advice!

Aftermarket double din only. Factory double dins are vehicle specific and usually dont fall into the universal double din dimensions

It should be a standard double DIN. Hit up crutchfield.com for fitment check and shopping, then check Amazon for pricing. It's often cheaper. :)

It is cheaper through Amazon but Crutchfield gives you install kits, correct wiring harnesses and 24/7 tech support, included in the purchase price. Worth the extra few dollars to me. You are on your own when purchasing through Amazon

Yep, certainly depends on what exactly you need. Sometimes for a ~$60 savings, I'd rather spend the $15 on a harness.

My stock harness is long gone as someone had put in a pioneer and spliced everything so the adapters aren't too pertinent. I will make sure to check consumer reports on any unit I consider. Thank you all, again.

If you get another Pioneer deck, your existing harness may plug right in.
