Hi guys, I recently bought a 2002 prerunner and when I'm driving, it likes to wander all over the road. This is my 3rd tacoma and the other 2 felt real tight in the steering wheel almost like a jeep. I bought it cheap to be a beater that I could drive back and fourth to work, but it has turned into a really solid truck. It has 225k on it so what should I replace in the front end? Thanks for any help

Ps: sorry if this is in the wrong place. I'm new to the forum and haven't figured it out yet

Many things can contribute to this feel.

More info besides mileage will help to identify potential trouble spots. Got a lift? Type? Stock or oversized tires?

A quality alignment shop can tell you a lot about your front suspesion.

Easiest is to check the alignment.
If the caster is off, it will wander.
Next step (and they'll likely look for this when you have the alignment done) is to look for worn parts... control arm bushings, ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rods, steering rack....

Check ball joints, tie rods, steering rack, steering rack bushings.

The rack bushings are cheap and simple to do in your driveway.... while you're at it, lift the front up til the tires are off the ground and attempt to 'steer' the tire manually back and forth and see if the inner ends of the tie rods deflect up/down to see if the rack is still good or if the outer end deflect then replace the rod ends. You'll also be able to see if the ball joints at the top or bottom of the spindle have play.

check your tire pressure, mine wanders a little if my pressure is too low at freeway speeds.
