As anyone who watches the news may know, GA had about an inch of snow earlier this week and it pretty much shut down GA b/c people don't know how to deal with a little snow. Anyway, Friday morning I walked out to my truck to find this: A tree limb fell on my f***cking hood. The day after the snow storm, it rained ice all day and night, which led to a brach breaking and landing right on my hood.

I almost threw up, as this is the first significant damage ol Jenny has ever seen (not including self-inflicted wheeling damage :D)

My deductable is $500, so I'm going to have to pay out-of-pocket ($170 for the hood, $200 to paint it)

I think I'm just gonna put up a little cash every week, so I don't have to pay all at once. The hood still shuts fine, so it's only an aesthetic problem.

Oh yeah, funny story: Friday on the way to work, I thought the hood was latched and it wasn't, so when I hit about 35 mph, my hood flew up and hit my windshield. Luckily, my windshield suffered no damage at all!

How did snow do that? Or did you have a lot of hail?

that looks like someone took it off and used it as a sled

I'm confused.. Did the damage come from snow (????) or from you leaving it unlatched and it flying up?

That sucks. Although it looks like someone body-slammed your hood then attempted to beat the evidence of said body-slam back out.

Whoops, I forgot to mention the part about the tree branch. I edited the original post; that's what did the damage. I've also got some scratches on both front fenders, but I'm not too concerned with that.

Stock as Stock can be with duratracs and a roof rack
maybe try straightening it a bit and paint it with white bed liner so you can have a sturdy hood while your at it mount a hi lift and shovel parallel to the fenders.

I thought about that, but the scoop would have to be the width of the hood to hide all the dings.

    that'd be badass!

I am sorry to hear. Ice has a way of just taking down tree limbs.

Could be worse. A tree full of ice and snow fell over and crushed my grandmother's Nissan Versa last week.

But your grandma can something less grandmotherly.

True story. I have a friend that has a Versa. He bought it a couple years before they more or less re-branded it and rolled out all the colorful colors.

Yeah my truck sat on the side of the road overnight. i was so scared i thought someone would come sliding down the hill and taking out the whole front clip :pout:

The problem wasn't the snow itself, it was the fact that it froze into ice and the county couldn't do anything about it

Yep! Us Georgian's aren't used to snow and ice! I never got stuck in it, although we did ride the roads more than we probably should have. You can bet your ass I won't be parking within 100 yds of a tree next time!
