So alot know my situation and setup. if not, than i just ordered bilstein 4600's, got them on, no problem. Truck sat REALLY high in the front! loved it. Took her on a stroll through the neighborhood and got back and looked again and saw that the truck was literally like 2 or 3 inches lower. When i first installed them, i noticed that she had positive camber, coming back, it was corrected and lower as stated.:confused:

My question is, are my springs shit or was it just the shocks getting settled in? i found that v6 coils from the same year, model truck of mine, has half an inch on my stock ones (14.9, 15.4) Should i go ahead and purchase them? i just got my check so money isn't a concern right now.

Shocks don't control your ride height.

Shocks won't improve your ride height more than just a few MMs. Yours springs/leafs are worn as well and need to be replaced. Hope it helps.

That's what kinda confused me! It sat up really tall with the new shocks before i took it for a spin. they set in though. i'm going to purchase the coils, i'll keep updated!

Question- any better brand then duralast? i know i'm looking on autozone.com but anything else out there? i just need the stock v6 ones. no lift

For a 5 lug duralast will work, you can look on toyteclifts.com for bilsteins or OMEs for best results but I honestly don't know if they will work on a 5 lug.

I hate autozone parts. Try and use something else. Usually about half of the stuff that I have to get from them doesn't fit right.

It sat up because you jacked the truck up, your control arms drooped and then stayed that way upon lowering due to the friction between your tires and the pavement. Upon driving around the block, everything settled properly.

Shocks don't provide ride height, springs do. Shocks only dampen spring movement.

My dad is also convinced that gas charged shocks give lift, but no. Springs give height and absorb impact, shocks slow/control the impact to the vehicle. Their main function is keeping the wheels in contact with the ground.

    Alright update,

The moog coils came in, but the ends are neither tapered nor pig tailed?? There's a piece of paper in the box that said "tapered and untapered are interchangable" and unless my automotive teacher was a dumbass, i learned that they weren't?? Will these things still fit?
