Anyone have factory leather?

I have factory leather in my truck. Was Limited the only trim that came with it? I've never seen it before is why I ask.

Pics or it is absolute bull. The Tacoma has never came with fsctory leather in the USA. Ever. It must have been dealer installed or something like that.

Do you have the window sticker or option list?

 

Light was fading where I'm at so pics aren't that great. Also has electric lumbar support. The original window purchase sticker says its in with the limited package and not added on. I work for Southeast Toyota Distributors and we put leather in Scion TC's so It may have been put on at the distributor.

 

From the pictures in looks black either way tacoma didn't come from the factory with leather. It was put in by a previous owner or the dealer had it done

 

It's not black. Did you read my post? Its from the distributor not the dealer.
they put on more accessories to sell to the dealer for more.

I work for Southeast Toyota Distributors. We buy Toyotas from Toyota, put accessories on them and sell them to the dealer. There is only three companys that do this for Toyota in the United States. So its not from the Toyota plant, its from the Toyota distributor. We put all kinds of shit on tacomas, The XSP-X isn't from the factory, distributors put it on. Same with MOST trim packages. I did a quick search and found a post on here with several people with 01-04 tacos with leather.

 

In your first post you say you have factory leather. I was replying to your first statement.

Not sure what the point of this whole thread is about? You come on and say you have factory leather, you even have it listed on your signature and then when people tell you it doesnt exist you then go on to say that you knew its wasnt factory and was put on by an upfitter and continue to argue about it. What is your point?

You must not know a whole lot about the auto industry. When a vehicle hits a distributor and parts are added it is still considered factory. All added accessories meet DOT guidelines and Toyota still covers all parts with their warranty. All parts have to be approved by Toyota themselves before being installed to make sure try uphold the Toyota name. So before you start attacking someone for no reason, learn your facts.

 

I know my facts. I used to work for a very large nationwide upfitter. They would purchase from a bailment pool, do the work and then deliver to the lot. We had to put our own bumper to bumper warranty and powertrain warranty on the vehicles because it still isnt considered a factory installed item no matter which way you slice it.

 

Be happy you got the leather and enjoy it . 2nd gen is " Pleather "

 

If it didn't come from the factory then it isn't factory. Simple as that.

 

I have dealer installed leather, and it matches much better.

Not a good pic but you can see the seat a little and the cloth was replaced by the same leather.
