rust on 03 frame

had the recall done on my 03 Tacoma where they paint some crap on it .now its all falling off and my frame looks worst then when they did it .anyone else have this problem?

 

There are many like that. If Toyota coated the frame you should still be warrantied. I almost bought one in that condition last year, but I was worried it wouldn't rust out fast enough to get a replacement before the warranty was up (15 years from first use).

You should be able to take it in for inspection at Toyota and if its bad enough you should be eligible for a frame replacement.

 

do you know when it was treated? My truck was treated in 2011 I believe..whatever coating they put on is some tough stuff. It's so goo-ey and not dried up or flaking at all. I think it's a really respectable coating. Issue is, I have no idea if they just sprayed it over existing rust or not. I know that Toyota wouldn't replace the frame just over surface rust, but even that would eventually get worse.

 

Was done in 2011 I live in RI lots of salt. The stuff never dried. If I touch it or goes on a lift the stuff will just peel off.

 

just called Toyota usa opened a claim .told me this shouldn't happen .they want a rep to come out and look at my truck.heres the #1-800-331-4331 got right threw very helpful if anyone else having same problem.
