I went and got my Viper alarm installed but when I got the truck back, I noticed today that they took the wire out of the latch. I honestly cant figure out how to fix it back into the latch slots, it seems tricky. Don't make fun haha.. I am just not sure how it fits back in the slots. I can't find much on how it fits back into the slots, so I figure someone must know. Here's a photo:

Why not just take it back, and have them fix it.

The end of the cable has a little fitting that slides into the plastic part, and the cable runs between the 2 parts that hold it.

Yeah, I think you have to bend that cable 90 degrees upward to fit the end into the right place. For some reason, I always have to fight that thing to get it back together. So, I usually just pull that trim piece off, re-attach the hood release cable, then re-install the trim onto the truck. It's just easier for me that way.

    Pull the bracket and reinsert?

Pull the cable and hold it pulled for release/slack. Then clamp a small pair of vice grips to the cable by the white bracket bushing so it will hold the slack for you as you insert the cable knob end back into the dash release lever. Don't get crazy with the vice grip tension, you don't want to bugger the cable to bad.

This is how I do it, maybe someone else has a better way.
