Yep. Or so I'm told. Still don't see how this would prevent theft though

I hate to hear that. At least I don't have to worry about some one taking mine, ''I don't have one". Did I say that out loud.

Thanks, lesson learned about our trucks... Just another thing to look out for. Need to have it up and running this weekend, hope the dealer has parts for this. If not, I might have a muffler shop straight pipe it for temporary.

Edit: did I mention how loud it is?! Lol. I can't get over it. My wife was like 'wtf' when I came home.

Welcome to the club. Had mine tweaker'd in 04 while I was at work. Mangy mutts even sawed off the pass mudflap so they could work easier. I clamped in a test pipe and took the ins check for $800 and fixed other things.. At least they left me enough material to clamp in a test pipe.

First thing I noticed was that it did pull the hills better. Didn't really change mileage or anything like that, It just gave it a little bit better top end pull (2.7).

A reputable muffler shop will not add a temporary test pipe due to strict laws about that. It's a do it yourself,,or a full meal deal at the muffler shop.

I believe the same animals were chased out of the hospital parking lot locally a day later. Security guard tried to run them down, They hopped in a old ford that was full of converters and drove off.

Toyota converters have a larger concentration of Palladium,,which is a super rare material,,hence more cash-in money for those and the main reason they go for them.

Oh man, I'm hearing this is pretty common. Sigh. I'll check into the test pipe/clamps, thanks for the tip! At least as a temporary fix - really need my vehicular this weekend. I'm in commiefornia so unfortunately a test pipe or aftermarket cat is not a long term option.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
OP, did you call the police by any chance?

Would a belly skid cover the downstream cat?

Hah it's cool, I am finding the whole thing to be a bit funny. Of all the things to take... Good thing they didn't want to grab my tool crate in the back too... Researching cats now in CA for my truck. Calling dealer and insurance too. Will update with cost for future reference.

This was a huge problem in the Denver metro area a few years ago. Haven't herd much lately though. Sucks man nothing you can really do they are too easy to hack off.

You will laugh till you see why they cost... Then the rage will set in.

The thing is, if I make an insurance claim, I might as well just go to the stealership and git'r done right.

Sorry to hear OP. Same thing happened to my 92 about 3 years ago in my office parking lot. Unfortunately not much the police can do unless you catch them red handed. It really does blow. I didn't notice until I started to the truck, and said what the fuck is wrong. Step out and the exhaust is hanging down ahead and behind of where the cat should be.

Truth... I'd replace with Toyota parts. Just have to find a dealership that you for consider a stealership.

They take them because it's so easy, and takes all of 30 seconds with a sawzall. Bastards, now I'm getting angry again for something that happened years ago
