I've tried everything! I took off the interior panel and everything's connected. I even took off the driver's side interior panel too see what was different in the door that will open, and there are no disparities. I've tried pulling on the rods and the door will not give. I took off the fender and unbolted the door from the outside and tried to shimmy it off, that didn't work. Any ideas? I am doing body work and I need to sand the bondo, but I can't get a good feather edge with the door stuck shut. Help me!

OK, so in the last sentence you reveal that the truck is damaged. I'm guessing the cab shell was deformed in an accident and has compressed against the outer perimeter of the door, entrapping it. This is not really a simple mechanical issue if that is the case.

There was a dent in the door and I pulled it out and put some bondo on it. The door worked with the dent in it, but it quit opening about two weeks after I fixed the dent.

Manual or electric locks? Are they operating normally? Like can you cycle the buttons up and down manually?

They are manual locks and they move up and down. The lock shaft is where it should be and operates like the door that's working.

Not a stupid question..... I did get some bondo in between the door and the bed, but I used a dremel and sawed it out.

Another stupid question because frankly I have no idea what it could be...

You tried opening from the outside? Maybe you have the child lock on.

It doesn't open from the outside. I finally took the door handle off and I noticed a little piece that doesn't move as well as its counterpart on the driver's side. The piece that moves it goes up and down, but the hub inside has limited movement. I tried hitting that, but it's hard to budge. I didn't think any Bondo got in the latch because I didn't really do that area, but something changed and it was about a week after I put the filler in. It seems that there is a block that I can't see at all. I want to spray it so bad! Maybe I'll just spray it and do the jamb as a touch up if I can ever get the damn door open.

    I feel sad.

When all else fails, use a bigger hammer.

What I would do, and I tend to be abusive on things that don't work, assuming the latch is actually working, is have someone hold open the latch and have someone else boot the ever loving crap out of it from the inside.

If the door stuck the day after you applied bondo, I'd guess you got some inside the jam and have effectively glued the door shut. Booting will break the bondo etc. But since you're saying it worked afterwards, my guess is the latch isn't actually operating. You should be able to unlock and unlatch the door from inside the door itself by pulling the rods.

I swear I had a similar problem on a neighbors old Toy pickup years and years ago. Details are very hazy. There was a little plastic connector of some sort (like a whitish plastic) at the end of a rod, and that little connector had broken. But IIRC, you could tell when operating the exterior door latch that something was not connected. I was able to zip tie that sucker together so that it would work in the short term.

Did you get an inspection mirror and light to look up into that area from inside the door panel?

    Oh, and one more thing.

POST SOME PICS! Much easier to help you out if we can see some of what you are seeing.

You shouldn't need a mirror. Once the panel is off the latch is right in front of you, more or less.
