I have a 98. It has a manual lever to engage 4x4 with automatic hubs. When I engage to 4wd the light on the dash lights up but my front tires won't turn? Any help appreciated.

Have you locked in the hubs? IF no, that's step 1.

    Step 2.
If you have locked in the hubs, you need to see if the tcase is turning the front drive shaft. If no, you have an issue in the tcase.

    Step 3.
If the hubs are locked and the front driveshaft is turning, you have a seized or broken hub. In 4wd, engine off, hubs locked, Jack up 1 front wheel and try to turn it by hand. If you can't that hub is working correctly. If you can, that hub has failed.

    step 4.
    Fix it :)

Thanks for the quick response. I feel like an idiot! This truck was just recently given to me by my late father. I remember my father had new wheels put on the truck and apparently the tire dealer put center caps over the locking hubs and I didn't realize this until after I posted the question. Everything is in good working order!
