Just finished this bed rack/ roof rack. Made out of 1 1/2" .120 wall square tubing. Hold my 16 foot canoe perfect for when i go to the lake. Will be adding a roof top tent and led light bar when I can justify that much $$$.

    Enjoy.

The bed rack looks really good! Nice fitment too. Hey, did you end up putting any more support for the section over the body of your truck? I would just be a little nervous relying on the welds to hold if you put any serious weight up there.

I have tested it by standing on it and it did not move at all. its not really to hold much weight though. Just used to hold the front of my canoe and a light ar when i purchase one.

^Yeah, for canoe duty, you don't need anything gorilla strength. Nice job. I like it.

How is the placement for the canoe with the over roof part higher? Do you plan some type of extensions on the bed portion to keep it even? If it sits up in the front might catch a lot of wind. I've hauled many a canoe on top of my roof using a hitch rack, it can get squirmy in the wind.

What size steel did you use for the corner/angle tuning on the bed rails?
