    does anyone know if 285/75 16 tires on a 4.5 backspacing rim will work on 4wd tacoma with roughly 2.5 inch lift?

    youll rub at full turn on the frame, you need 4 or less backspacing

    X2, thats what iv been told, im Running rims with a 4"bs and no rubbing with 31x12.5x16 SSRs

    It's the amount of space between the hub of the wheel (where you bolt it on to your brakes) to the inside lip of the wheel.

    so if a wheel has 4" backspacing, it is 4" from the inside lip of the wheel to where it is mounted.

    the smaller the backspacing, the further it sticks out.
