So I wanted my truck to sit level so I took out my add a leaders and put on a 1.5 block to make it level with the front. When I got home I noticed my e brake cables were strung over the leafs. I thought there would be a fix since these were made for the first gen Tacoma but nothing works. Help?

Should I just leave then disconnected until I can find a fix so I don't wear my drums out while I drive? The red parking light does not come on until I pull the brake but I can tell it definitely is a shorter distance to pull out.

That won't help with the Ebrake cable, but it's not a bad idea to get one.

There's a Ebrake adjustment under the truck on the drivers side frame, you can make some slack there, and that should help some.

Is that all I can do? Just leave them going over the top of my leafs?

In theory you could build a extension that bolts or welds onto the little arm on the drum, and have it move the mount up.
It's never been tried before as far as I know, but in theory it's possible.

from the photo, it looks like there is a BPV extension...

along with the slack in the line, look into extending the bracket circled below to help guide the brake line a little higher so it's not sitting like that on the leaf packs...

You could replace those blocks with a 1" block (or whatever size will eliminate the cable problem, and then use longer shackles for the additional needed lift.

    Some more thoughts.......

    1) Another thought.... take that top piece off (in the photo) and bend it upwards in a vice (if possible).

    2) Another thought.... build a new piece that has a bend in it - just make sure you include rubber to 'sheath' the cable because it will rub at that location

    3) Put spacers between those two pieces to lift it upwards.

Ok thanks for all the response y'all. I'm probably just going to make some brackets to get them off the spring.

Thread revival eh? I have the same issue. I WAS going to drill a hole in the arm on the hub, at a lower point, and reattach the pin there. But I've since ignored it. Doesn't seem to be affecting anything. Have left it that way for over 3 years since I bought it. New leafs and lift in the near future anyways. But figured my idea might be an easier option for y'all.

Yeah mine is routed under, but is still arched. Not as bad but figured I'd throw that out there if anyone still had that issue after rerouting like mine and wanted an easier fix rather than fabricating new cable brackets like someone suggested.
