Has anyone on here installed an amp for just the new speakers they installed? I figured if I bought an amp along with 4 new speakers - I would be getting a much better sound..I also thought this was just a plug and play type of thing but quickly realized I have to take door panels off, run all new wiring, cut parts of the speaker down to fit, etc...Has anyone seen a write up on how to install speakers and an amp? I checked you tube but no luck so far. any help would be appreciated!

New more info. What year? What amp? Speakers? Factory deck or aftermarket?

2003 Tacoma , Kenwood KAC 8405 amp and two sets of polk audio db 571's. I'm not sure I even need an amp but I just heard from the grapevine that it will make the speakers sound better... I'm not sure what a deck is but I'm assuming it's factory. Thanks!

FWIW, I found the attached "MasterSheet" useful when I upgraded my sound system (i.e., new head unit, new speakers all-around, and a subwoofer). Note that the MasterSheet deals more with the "physical" aspects of the install, rather than the "electrical" ones. For those, I relied the instructions/manuals that came with my new components. Aside from the subwoofer, however, I did NOT have to install any new wiring - I just reused what was already there.

For some reason I thought you had an alpine single din deck??? But if the amp came with the speaker level harness you can use that or get a LOC if you do have a stock deck.

Yes makes it easier to install an amp that way.
