I’ve been a member for a short time, but have been lurking for a while. I’ve been watching the "for sale" section for an excellent condition chrome rear bumper, without much luck. The only sales seem to be east and west coast locations.

I’ve decided that I’m done waiting for just the right used one to show up, and am going the purchase new route. This leads me to making this thread.

I guess I’m kind of a minority here, when I say, I like the looks of the chrome rear bumper on my truck. Other than purchasing OEM(which will likely rust again), which aftermarket brands should I consider, for a quality product, in and OEM style?

If anyone has been in my same situation, I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts and any points that lead you to the replacement you chose.

    Thanks.

    Sorry guys.....

OP posted in 1st Gen thread, he list his Tacoma as an '04....your suggestion is a 2nd gen...

OP, I too tried the interweb for an OEM replacement and unless you find one close...SHIPPING completely SUCKS for any bumpers period...

I am ACTIVELY looking for one too as mine has finally given in to 12 New Hampshire winters :(....

SOS and CBI are at the top for plate for me and tube or hybrid tube can be all over the map price and delivery wise..

Keep us updated on what you find...

LOL, at the last minute I change the thread title and dropped the "Gen 1..." I had, thinking its in the Gen 1 section that's redundant.

snoope, thanks, its nice to know I'm not alone in my silent suffering.

don't know much about OEM bumpers but id say Amazon or rock auto has some pretty good prices for car parts. not sure about the rust issue though.

if you decide to go with a non OEM bumper id say CBI has some of the best looking rear bumpers on the market for tacomas. I went with the outback 1.0 and can't wait to get it in the mail

    Thanks gentlemen.

Dealing with the same rust issue. Truck looks great except for the pitting on the rims and the rusted bumper.
