Ok, cant upload the pictures from my phone but it's a vaccum hose that goes into the airbox on one end. On the opposite end, the vaccum hose goes into a plastic box thingy on the drivers side. Well that plastic box is broken, its missing a piece and I can look inside it! I dont hear anything hissing and the truck runs good. Its been broken for as long as I owned the truck. 2001 2.7L Auto. Will get pictures up when I get home. Thanks

Is that something that needs to be fixed, harms the engine or performance? Still trying to load pictures. Standby

That is the vapor canister if I am correct. I fixed one once in a pinch with epoxy and a cut up Rubbermaid container.

Thanks for the link man. I didn't realize it was that expensive. So is my cracked canister hurting performance, mpg, wearing anything out or can I ride it out until I come across a used one or fix this one?

Ok, after some research, it looks like the evap canister directs gas fumes into my airbox where it will eventually be burned off in the combustion chamber. Will super glue this somehow. Thanks for the replies gents.

Worth a try for sure. Surprised that you don't have any noticible issues or codes. What kind of mileage are you getting? Never hear buzzing noise?

does not cause performance issues it is emissions only. it just filters the breather hose for the gas tank.
