As my upgrade continues on my 99 SR5 extended cab auto trans continues, I'm in need of seat covers for the front seat(s) that has the notch/cutout for the console. I assume this is what is called the 60/40 seats? I had the Okle seat covers in a Jeep, but I'm always leaving items in my pockets that are not friendly to them. I'm going to be doing a lot of towing (RV) with it so I need something that's going to hold up. Any suggestions?

I don't know of any seat cover that holds up well to screwdrivers? left in your back pocket.

If you can get past or fix that, then you could have any seat cover you want.

2 sets of full leather covers, one stretched over the other? That might hold up for awhile.

Toyotapart don't have any Gen 1 covers (gen 2's do look good though)

I found www.marathonseatcovers.com which look like they will do the job. Cordura nylon stuff in a ton of colors/patterns. Thanks for the help!

Marathon is based here in Montana near me. Good company and I've seen a lot of their products around, they do good work. SUPER tight fit though. Just a tip: have someone help you and take the seats out of the truck to get the covers on.
I would have gotten them for my truck but all they had in stock for fabrics at the time was camo and tans. I needed grey and didn't want to wait 2-3 months.

I have GT covers in my truck and they've been great. Just starting to see a little wear mark from the lap belt as it comes over the edge of the seat. Not bad for 7 years. FYI - GT Covers is the brand that toyotapartsstore used to carry for 1st gens too

I'll try to take one of them in the truck in a few mins. They're the "Neosupreme" fabric. I've only had them about a month but i've been happy with them. They fit great.

Wish I would have bought all black. Grey centers on the Okole's dirty up fast. Just ran mine thru the wash machine for about the 5th time overall with the Okole shampoo. Spot treated with Oxyclean. Warm lite wash and rinse, hang dry. Put them on in 2010 I think. Was a group buy.

My old school buddy said to put a plastic garbage bag over the seat back and bottom before slipping the new cover on. Makes the cover slide easier and you can rip the bag out when done.

Damn I'll have to check these out. They look like a great low cost alternative to wet okole.
