I have a 1998 Tacoma Prerunner. I would like to black out my truck. Front grill, exterior door handles, front and rear bumpers. Any suggestions? I live in San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles. Thanks.

Plasti-Dip. Works well and it's cheap

if you don't want professional do the plasti-dip to see what it looks like. if you hate it you can peel it off.

if you love it then get it painted, you can even rattle-can it and make it look decent if you take the prep-work seriously

this is plasti-dip and took about 3-4 hours after washing, air dry, wipe-down and spray 5 coats. if you notice I did the door emblems, and need to find a way to remove the quarter window SR5 emblem better this time

Like others said, Plasti-derp is great and rattle can will do the trick as well.

If you post in your local area I bet someone has a paint gun and will hook you up for dirt cheap. I got my bumper and 2 grills painted for nothing. I just had to buy paint.

Thank you for all your input and help but what the heck is plasti-dip? I'm really new with all this. Any help would be much appreciative. Also, thinking of changing side mirrors to lil bigger. Any suggestions? I found after market front grill and ext door handles in black. Is plasti- dip cheaper? Pros and cons? Thanks for all your help!

It's spray able rubber and you can peel it off if you don't like it. It's pretty cool stuff.

Uh I wouldn't buy anything in black plastidip is like $10 or less and it's easier.

Especially for door handles. The black ones are plastic and break easy

Check out my profile and pics you will see what plasti dip can do did my grille and front and rear bumpers and plasti-dip is like a latex type rubber coating that you spray on it's kinda like a bedliner and if you don't like how it looks you can just peel it off it's a really product. You can get it at pretty much any Walmart or lowes or homedepot or what not.

the front door badges are the easy ones, the excess peels right off. the side cab and rear tailgate ones are harder due to them being "closer" to the body. They are almost like stickers themselves and if you just try to peel off like normal most of it would peel right off over the badges

Which is why some people rip off the first gen ones and 'dip some second gen and then reapply the emblem
