I bought a 98 regular cab 4 cylinder, 4X4 last week and drove it home today. It surprised me. It drives like a shrunken truck. Other than size it was not much different than driving my F250.

I have been using a Wrangler for a hunting etc. vehicle for quite a few years. It is not my first Jeep, and after about 40 years of driving them, I have gotten tired of listening to the top. So, about a year or two ago I started hunting for a Toyota 4X4 with low miles and in good condition.

I have a Camry with 269K on it and a Tercel with 235K on it , so I figured if I was going small I'd go Toyota.

I kept finding myself speeding in the Tacoma. It has considerably more power than the 4 cylinder Wrangler. I could become attached to this thing. I think it is a keeper, and to put that into perspective, I drove the F250 off the dealer lot the day after Thanksgiving 1979.
