Hello everyone, I am new to Tacoma ownership and need some help.

I bought my '97 Tacoma yesterday. Before I bought it, I did my due diligence and brought it into an independant mechanic who looked it over, and gave me a list of what he was seeing. The check engine light was on, and he saw code P0141 (the o2 sensor code) and saw nothing else.

Today, I went into Autozone to get a replacement o2 sensor, and forgot the code. They wanted to double check and make sure I was correct. When he went to check the code, he found the P0141 code AND a P1300 code.

He went on to tell me this was an igniter circuit malfunction. I did some research and people were getting this code with other problems (not starting, idling rough, etc.), but I haven't had any of these problems. The engine is running just fine.

Is this just a misread? Why did it show up today and didn't yesterday? Should I be worried?

    Thanks for your help! :)

I wouldnt worry about it if its running fine. That P1300 code could have been old and just wasnt cleared from the OBD history.

P-1300 is a coil pack mis-fire. Zer0 is correct, a old code if it's running fine.
