hey people im getting rdy to put a suspension lift kit any ideas on what i should get

 

Depends on what you want. For a mild front 2-3 inch lift i recomend Old Man EMU 881 coils along with their shocks. It will give you about 2.25" of lift. The front will be about an inch higher after that. 1" toytec lift shackels or an AAL will do the trick.

yea i wanted to get like a 3inch lift front and rear or te pro comp 4" lift i do a little offroading and i just wanna make my truck a little bit bigger i aslo wanna fit at least 32s or 33s

 

I've heard the procomp kit is not so great for these trucks. If you choose to go into a drop bracket kit i would go with tuff country (5'') or fabtech (6''). There higher kits but better quality.

I only want to run 33'' tires so thats why i settled for a smaller lift. The toytec ultimate lift will give you 2.5-3.5 inches of lift and a better on and off road drive. With the proper backspacing on the rims you can run 33's.

 

i have 32s and i put OME 881s with OME shocks in the front and i still have the rough country 2in lift shackles and shocks in the back that came with the truck when i bought it.

definitely get OME (coils and shocks) and Emu Dakar (leaf springs, same company). you'll be able to fit 32s or 33s and be fine.

 

I'm running the new RCD lift on my 08 4x4. Its a nice ride very smooth. But since you have a prerunner you can get away with a coil spacer. It will keep the price down and you can run 33's. When I had my 00' prerunner, I ran the fabtech coil overs with 33's. It was a nice set up. It all depends on how much you want to spend. From an inexpensive coil spacer... Or pricey Long travel.

 

Yea I got 2.5inch spacers up front and the rear is stock I was going to run the tuff country 5inch lift but I need to buy new rims and tires cause my stock wheels won't fit? And also I was thinking about getting the 3inch tuff country lift kit and adding a 1to 2 inch body lift??

 

I got a 3" lift on mine and am running 33's well there actually like 32.7 or so... If you want to run 33's? A 3" lift kit will be plenty of lift!

Make sure that your new wheels have a 4" or 4.25" back spacing. So that they dont rub any.

 

would anybody consider getting a 3" suspension and either a 1or2" body

 

it depends on what you want....with a prerunner you can crank the coilovers up to 3 inches(you dont have to worry about your cv's).. and you can fit 33's with no rub...and it looks good. Are u trying to tuck 35's in there?

 

well see the thing is i like big trucks i wanna get a good lift so ui was thinking the 3" tuff country suspension with a performance acessories body lift like 1 or 2 inches will it look good i wanna go the cheapest way and i do a little offroading but not too much will i need to replace my uca's if i do it or the stock ones will workl

 

this is also to go with what i wrote i also want it to be safe and to make sure everything is good and i will be checking the bolts for the body lift every month

 

It depends on how much you want to spend. You can put a spacer in there and get 3 inches for under 300, but the ride will be rough( if your not always going off road, just every now and then, it could work for u) The coil overs will give you a nice ride. I would recommend putting your suspension lift on first. They riding around for about a month or so, to see if you like it. Then if you still want to go higher you can. Where in socal are u, if your close to san diego, I have friends that own or manage a few shops down here and can give you a good deal on the install or give you a recommendation. But it all really boils down to how much you want to spend... Like i said b4.. You can go really basic, or you can really go extreme. You can also by some new spindles and get about 4 inches out of it. Your 2wd, so there are alot of options out there for your truck.

 

well if i go with the 3 inch lift do i nees to replace my uca's and if not when i do a body lift do i need to replace them then

 

i had the Fabtech coilovers on my 00' prerunner, and didnt replace my UCA's. I as running 33x10.50 BFG's and it aligned fine, had no problems. The body lift does just that, it lifts the body up, nothing else, your suspension stays the same.

 

yea im gonna go with the pro comp stage1 4" lift kit front and rear then i can run 33s but thanks though for all the ideas do u think this kit will be good

 

I dont know about the pro comp stage I. never ran it.. I have the 4 inch rcd lift on mine and i like the height. Just go with what your willing to spend. have fun with it.. do your research online before you buy. Sometimes if you contact the company you can get the lift from them at a wholesale price, which is usually alot cheaper then getting it from the shop.
