I just installed my URD 7th Injector Kit and am now having a problem. I first installed the Walbro fuel pump and the 7th injector. Once I finished this, I started the truck to make sure it ran fine and had no leaks. All was good. Next I installed the piggyback controller. Once I finished this, I started it again and it ran fine. I was satisfied that I has successfully installed the kit. So I put the bed back on and wrapped it all up. I go to start it to take it for a test drive and it doesn't start. It cranks but won't run. Its like its not getting any fuel. I checked all the fuses and they are fine. I also made sure all pump connections were good. At first I smelled fuel while cranking. But the longer I cranked, the less I would smell fuel. I decided to slowly disconnect the 7th injector fuel line to see if there was pressure since the system should be pressurized if the pump is functioning. When I disconnected the line, there was nothing but a few drips. I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is not working. I only started the truck twice with this fuel pump. How could it be bad already?? Any advice? Thanks.

Woot! My walbro gave out just now while I was hauling 75 mph in the left lane in front of a line of traffic. Almost got rear ended. A buddy with a trailer is on his way.

Damn. Glad your alright. I'm beginning to think mines not the fuel pump now. I pulled the 7th injector hose and cranked my truck (not the best idea). Fuel shot out everywhere. So I'm thinking my pump is fine and it's an ignition problem? Maybe when I tucked back the wires for the piggyback, something came loose? Gonna have to look into it a bit more tomorrow... I just wanna drive my truck!!

Mine turned out to not be the pump. I did the same thing you did and had no fuel come out when I took the fuel line off. Got it off the interstate and pulled the pump to bench test it. It pumped fine. Put it back in and it pumped fine. My guess is the plug wiggled loose, but I didn't see anything obvious when disassembled. I don't know.

Did you check that your wiring matches the diagram for your particular year?

Hmm that's weird. And yea the wiring matches. Like I said, it started fine when I initially started it after the piggyback install. It was once I put everything back together that it didn't work...

My guess would be a loose wire or maybe loose plug to the ecu then.

Bingo. I pulled out the glove box and looked at all the wires and they seemed good. I then found the wire I tapped into for the ignition and double checked it. I then unplugged the harness containing the ignition wire and plugged it back in to the ecu. It fires right up. I'm guessing that plug wasn't snapped in and when I tucked the wires back, it came out of the socket a bit. It's tight now and the truck runs AWESOME! Let's just hope it stays running like this!
