Hello everyone, new guy here thinking about getting a 1st Gen Tacoma.

I am going to look at a 2000 Prerunner with 196000 miles on it tomorrow and was wondering if there is anything that I need to look for. The truck is a 4 cylinder with the automatic transmission. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Check for excessive rust on the frame (especially at the leaf spring mounts) , there's lot of threads on it. A 2000 may or may not have any time left on the extended frame warranty (depending when it was first registered, and where).

You can always check the leaf springs to see if they have any life left in them. If they don't you can probably talk down the price some

Thanks for the tips. I ended up getting a 2006 Tundra double cab instead.
