Looking for a Regular Cab 4x4 tacoma
    searching for a good tacoma
Is it possible to swap the bucket seats from a 2003 regular cab 4x4 tacoma to a bench seat with little work? by little work i mean just unbolting the buckets and installing the bench with out having to do any modifications to airbags or anything else?

    will they fit in perfectly?

Should be easy. i have a 02 with the flip up center consol that allows 3 people to sit up front. should just have to pull the seats and center consol and put in the new.

No problem - just unbolt the old one and bolt the new one in. It should line up just fine. I had an '00 that I swapped the buckets for a bench, then later swapped that for a 60/40 bench. The only problem was making the seatbelts work - the receiver for the buckets was part of the seat, and I had to buy the one that mounted to the floor for the bench seat. Junkyards will have them - let me know if you need a recommendation, there's an awesome Tacoma junkyard near me that ships.

I'm looking at doing just the opposite: swapping the bench seat for buckets on my (new to me) '02 regular cab. The drivers side of the bench seat is pretty saggy and the cloth is torn on the seat-back (at the usual place).

My question: will bucket seats from an extended or double cab fit in a regular cab? Is it easy to pull the hardware for the bucket seats? Will I need anything besides the sliding rails?

    Thanks for your help.

Another question: will 2nd generation Taco seats fit the 1st generation?

bench on a reg cab is different (from what I've read)

buckets and 60/40 mount using some of the same holes but need to use the tunnel for mounting buckets (xcab has these already there whereas reg cab did not)

this is one of the first reg cab with factory buckets I've seen, and usually they go bench to buckets not reverse :p

Just curious why would you want to get rid of the buckets for a bench seat? That is the first single cab I have seen that has power options.

    Thanks for that info guys.

Previous owner pulled the carpet out of the truck, so it should be pretty easy to see how everything mounts. There are a bunch of unused holes under the bench seat where other stuff mounts.

My bench seat is not comfortable. It's worn out--fabric and foam.

Anyone have (pics) of duals with a bench seat? I'd almost like a bench but I'm sure I'll get duals eventually and if the seat gets in the way of fairly easy shifter installation I'll forget it.

    Freaking Simple!!

I put SR5 4runner seats in mine, 3 feet line up perfectly one we cut off and bolted onto the new seat. once you line it up you will see exactly what I did.

paid $32 a piece for mine from wrench a part.

Yea i have the 60/40. not sure id be willing to put cash into the deal anymore though because I'm thinking of going with some sparco seats in the end. My driver seat has one tear on it. Other than that they are in OK condition..

I just finished swapping out my driver side seat with a Corbeau Baja RS so now I have a spare driver side bucket. I'd like to try a driver seat from 60/40

OP has a reg cab (usually solid bench), it's different for an xcab which has all the mounting points for buckets and 60/40, so yes yours was easy. :)
