I was wheeling on Sunday, when I broke a CV in the rocks. Unfortunately it also took out the free wheeling hub and a brass piece inside the axle hub.

    Its location inside the hub:

All these parts are for a non-ADD 4x4 system, and the FSM diagram does not show this part. Just the whole hub.

Does anyone have a part number or name for this piece? I am hoping to not have to purchase a whole new axle hub and have it replaced, which would also require replacement of the wheel bearing.

    Any help is appreciated!

I broke the CV on those rocks to the left of the pooch.

With my locked front end now "open" and a open rear, I ended up having to winch several times to get off the trail.

There are two of those brass pieces pressed in the hub; one on the in-board side, and one on the out-board. The two pieces are different, one has a bevel on the inner diameter. Do you know which brass fitting you broke?

I have a couple extra, just need to know if it is the inner or outer. I can't make it to my shop for a couple days, but I dont mind mailing one.

    Thank you Topher!

The casualty was the outboard side bushing. It seems that the roller bearing and inboard one are still in working order. If you dont mind sending me your spare, that would be awesome!

How do you recommend installing it; gently tapping it into place with a wood block, or pressing it? I have a HF 20 ton press, but if i dont need to remove the spindle from the truck that would make a trail-side repair more feasible if this was to happen again.

Yeah, tap it in with a rubber mallet.

I will be out next Monday 6/9 to pick it up. Just PM me your address and I'll mail it.

    Thanks
