Code P036

Washed my engine last night and developed a miss. Changed the plugs and it's still missing. Seems to go away after I drive it awhile but comes back after I turn the truck off. P036 is supposed to be cylinder 6 misfire. Think it's the coil?

Swap coil packs and see if the problem moves with the swap.

Swapped coils & now have cyl 5 & 6 missfire. Bought a new coil & im back to P036. Seafoamed through the vacuum line and poured a pint in the tank on about half full. Drove about 20 highway miles and it's back to intermittent. Seems like it runs steady at 1250 rpms and above but then starts to miss intermittently

I don't wish to state the obvious but did you clear the code after you swapped the coil packs?

Yes. 2, 4 & 6 have coils. 6 fires 6 and 5 cyl., 4 fires 4 and#3. 2 fires 2 & 1 cyl. Codes were cleared.

Last night disconnected battery and let it sit for an hour. This morning on my 50 mile commute, it was missing for about 10 miles. Started to clear up and by the time I got to work, it was not missing at all. The CEL light blinked for about 40 miles then went back to not blinking.

Fixed. Replaced all 3 coils. So far 200 miles & no miss or CEL.
