Is this important? If so, for what?

that holds the ac condencer and the center brace going up to the hood latch/core support right there in the center between your 2(just guessing) lights you got there.

Still looking for a place for the IC. Do you have to use the one you have? Can you use a smaller one?:notsure:

I dont have to use this one but would prefer it. It would be easier to do a "water to air" IC...

Im just curious if this beam provides any structural support.

I'll check out the FM when I get home and see what all it connects to, maybe remove that one and fabricate one that will hold your intercooler.

I was thinking if it was for integrity of anything, I could weld something up a little diff and fit the IC in there. Im trying to find a month that would let me run an aftermarket bumper... :(

i wouldn't cut it personally.. its a pretty big part of the radiator support. its also connected to the radiator support mounts which is what connects the body to the frame in the front of the truck.

EDIT: the front of my truck is a little more open in the front right there.. if you want some pictures let me know.

Don't cut it, the beam provides structual support to the truck as well as the radiator and base of the truck.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
x2 don't cut it you will have all kinds of problems i you cut out the core support. I just cut the sides for tire clearance and my battery sunk my fender down 1/4" so i have to move it to the bed.

Take the bumper off and provide some more detailed pics of the structure, what it connects to and what it supports...

Sounds like the consensus its don't cut it out, but like you mentioned... how can it be done "different"?

How much more room do you need for the IC to fit?

Lower tie bar for the core support - rather important part. Joins the two side baffles, and provides support for the front inner structure ( inner fenders, core support, cooling, etc). It is a box design to add strength in a light weight manner. Now with some decent fab skills you could build a new one from some 2x2x.120 angle providing you connect all the same attatchment and mounting points.
