manual hubs, what happens now?

    Agreed. Best thing to do is remove the hub, clean and inspect. It is not uncommon for a spring to break though.

    I took the hub apart and it looked brand new, no issues....but i couldnt get it to work....

    but what did the trick was to just rotate it over one or two bolts....

    I took it out, and tried to put it back in without compressing the spring

    I kept doing it until it finally slipped in.....i put two bolts in to hold it in place then moved it....i felt it engage and i tested the rotation of the CV joints.....
    everything worked and both sides operated in the same manner....now I can go test it this weekend on a muddy ditch somewhere.....

    Started automatic. Swapped to manual
