Changing wheel bearing

    Brought my 4wd 2003 tacoma to the shop today and they said you need a special tool to be able to take the bearing out there is some specialty tool does anybody know the special tool to get the hub off to take the bearing out?

    Front or rear? They both require a special tool front toyota (or a homebrew solution), gotta be more specific.

    Does he sell hub assemblies for Gen1's? I only see listing for Gen2's.

    I just did my front wheel bearing. I didn't have to use any special tools unless a press is considered a special tool. Make note though that before you press the hub from the spindle, don't forget to remove the retaining ring off. I forgot to take it off and the ring got alittle bent out of shape but I was able to bend it back. Other than that it is a simple job to do.
